Jlt intake question?

If I got the jlt intake would I have to get a tune when I purchase it or can I get it, install it and then get a tune later?

You won't need a tune. Just disconnect the battery while you put it on. And once you put it on and reconnect the battery the computer will relearn its self and compensate for the intake.

I'm thinking I might just do the intake and tune all at the same time!(:

You do not need a tune. But if you are planning on doing a tune someday as well and have the money you might as well get a tuner with you intake.

If your intake is bigger than the factory one ur MAF will not read right.. Ur factory computer will not compensate for that by unhooking ur battery

It won't be as effective as if it were tuned. But it's not like it's an absolute need. His car is not going to run poorly or miss or loose power if he does not get It tuned. It won't have any bad effects on the car.

You will only need a tune if you get a larger MAF, TB, intake, or a combo of these. You'll need a tune if you get an aftermarket H or X pipe, mainly to take advantage of this mod and to shut off the CEL. Obviously, a tune will make a little more HP and throttle response, but as long as you perform the idle re-learn (which also sets the fuel trim) these mods will not hurt your car.

If the tuner is married to the other car you wil have to send it to bama to have it taken off.
