gears grinding

So the other day I took my 98 stang to the track and finally gave her all she had I noticed that if I slam 2 and 3rd they grind only when I slam them tho... Also some times It won't come out of reverse unless I let the clutch out and kill it any suggestions on what this is for sure?? bc I'm thinking its the clutch help please!

Checkout the pic. There are some procedures you can try to help determine if your clutch is bad or heading in that direction.

my '04 GT did the same thing...turned out to be the 3rd gear syncro...

I had that grinding problem going from 3rd to 4th and I got the clutch replaced and it's been beautiful every since.

Mine does the same thing and has gotten to where my 4th gear no longer works. How much did it cost you?

1100.00, but I made the dealership agree to replace it when I was making the purchase. They kept it about a week, but it hauls...!!!

What kind of clutch are you running now? And is it a T-45 or TR-3650?
