Restore Steering Wheel

So my 02 GTs steering wheel is shot,.it's so worn down and just looks absolutely horrible without a cover,and I hate covers haha, anyone ever restore one of these ? If so please explain how it's done, thanks guys

Yah I have this manual on how to take it off but that's it... Thought about just replacing it, but I also picked this car up as a full restoration project to though so I'm subscribed...

I just really don't have the funds for a new wheel and can't find anything online about anyone restoring these wheels, mines getting bad that when I use it without a cover it flakes on my lap..and I hate covers

I don't like the covers either. Kinda reminds me of an 80 year old blue hair in a Buick.
