Should i be worried?

On my way home my radiator light came on and I started smelling antifreeze. Checked under the hood to find that the left hose to the heater core popped off at the intake. My gt is stock 2000 with 180000 miles on it. The hose seems to be in good shape and as far as I can tell the intake is not cracked. Why would it just come off like that. Could the clip that holds it on get that weak over time. I've had the car from day one so I know all that's been done to it. I've hanged the radiator fluid 3 times but never messed with that hose.

id just go get another hose clamp and replace them all, and keep an eye on it.

Well Hoses don't last forever. With 180k on the dial those things should have been replaced miles ago. The hose may have weaked and with the water pressure simply popped off. I believe 16lbs of pressure is what the system holds. But I would replace all hoses in the car. Heater core as well.

CJ Pony Parts

Also Check American Muscle we get discounts threw the group I believe.
