5.4 swap

anyone done this? and is it worth it?

It has been done, and unless you use a 4V 5.4 or plan on going with an FI setup, I don't really see a reason to do it. There's alot of torque, but the Hp isn't there.

Also the size if the block isn't much different from a 4.6, so it is ALMOST I repeat ALMOST a drop in application. There will be something that have to be modified. Spend the money on a blower for the 4.6 and be done with it. IMO.

It's a semi common swap, but it's kind of a tough one. The clock and everything fits, but the brake booster needs relocated if memory serves. Also you would need a new hood to clear the intake.

i saw a few on craigslist and was jus wondering, i also saw a 98 gt with a full mach 1 swap, it looked bad ***

You can check out videos on Youtube of people that have done the swap. Also i think ive seen write ups online as well. It definitely is cool, considering the 2000 Cobra R came with a 5.4.

The time I got the motor and everything.I'd prolly be better off building a teksid block and putting fi lol

Lol yeah. Like I said I would rather build a 4.6 for the money it would take to put in a 5.4. Or just find a 4V 4.6 from a Termi and drop that in
