mustang starting delay

Well I've been having problems starting my mustang lately. When I turn the key to start it, I have to hold it for 10-15 seconds for it to actually start. Times vary based on how much its been driven that day. After a day it takes forever. Shop thought it was ignition switch. Didn't change a thing. Now they are stumped and so am I. Anybody ever had anything similar happen?

Mine and my friends do the same thing. If you turn the key to the on position until you hear the fuel pump stop the turn it to the off position. Do this 3-4 times and it will start right up, but on the third or fourth time start it before the fuel pump turns off. From what I've heard it is the fuel sending unit, different from the fuel pump. I don't really worry about it since the car always starts.

I've tried that a couple of times, didn't work. Still takes 30 seconds on a cold start. Shop doesn't know what it is...

Sounds like it could be a fuel pressure sensor.

Pretty sure I figured it out. On a cold start this morning, it wouldn't start at all. Held key for about 2 minutes. Got anxious and started fiddling with things. Shook the shifter around and on the next try it was instant...trans linkage.
