70mm Throttle Body/Plenum or SCT Tuner?

So, finally, I got all my exterior mods done and now to move on to the performance part and I don't wanna go too crazy like cams and stuff even though they would be sick. For my first mod I either want a 70mm Stack Racing Throttle Body and Plenum or SCT Tune but I'm not sure which would be more beneficial. I currently have a Magnaflow Tru-X off road mid pipe and Magnaflow Magnapacks and CAI.

Thanks for your guys' input.

When I got my Professional Product 70mm & Plenum I felt gooood GAIN.

I say wait on Tuner and get 373 gears..
Tuner does not do much

Tuner = 380
Gears = 150 Install = 200 ( 350 )

Based on what I've heard is that the tuner really wakes the car up, maybe not as much as gears though. The TB and exhaust don't really do much, 5 hp max together. With a tuner I'd say 10-15 hp. Once I get new headlight housings I will get my tuner because when you get it off AM you get unlimited tunes, so after every upgrade you can get a new tune.

How Dumb is that ?
Full exhust and TB and Plenum only 5 Hp are you on crack or just slow.

Do you not realize how restricive everything is? Do you not understand how you get more Hp Tq by letting the Engine breathe and perform better ?
A Tuner doesnt do anything but tell your ECU what mods you have and whats been changed to properly ty run right instead of not knowing what to do. A tuner wont give you 10-15 hp thats ridiculous.. A DYNO tune would give you that. A tuner isnt a real tune its limited to its capabilitys. And Not to be rude but Bama isnt the best. Everyone gives free tunes you just have to look. Dyno tunes differ.

I would do the tuner. You would need to correct the gears with a tuner anyways so it's pretty pointless to do gears by themselves. The throttlebody/plenum combo definitely helps, but the tuner is what ties everything together.

And let the uncorrected miles rack up? I'll pass. Resale value goes down when you think about it. It's great letting the engine breathe, but the ECU can only compensate so much for the extra airflow that you gain.

Seems still like a hard decision guys lol. I've heard a tune can really wake up a car with just exhaust and CAI so I am leaning towards that but I know throttle body/plenum combo can cause a increase in throttle response. I'm gonna have both eventually just wanted to see which one I should get first lol.

Go with the Tuner, you won't be dissapointed. Mine is a Custom Tune, but you will get far more out of your car with the Tuner, than the Throttle Body and Plenum.

From your guys comments I'm leading more to an Bama SCT Tuner from American Muscle just because with every new upgrade I get they can upgrade my tunes for life. Street tune or performance tune prolly running 87 octane?

StangerBanger04,

Definitely post up some pictures of your Stang with exterior completed, I'd love to check it out!

As far as these mods go, I would definitely recommend the TB, Plenum, Gears and Bama tuner. What order you do them is up to you but they're all really beneficial! If you get the tuner now we can tune for your certain mods and you'll be set for life anytime you add a new modification! This is probably your best option, if you'd like some more details feel free to give my Bama team a call. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

That's exactly the mods I wanna do. I drove an 05 gt today with a 87 octane performance tune on it and it was significantly faster than mine. Made me definitely want a bama tune over anything. Definitely gonna be the next purchase from AM that's for sure. I'll put some exterior pictures up with it finally all done!

HID's, smoked tail lights, smoked third brake light, chrome mustang bumper inserts, Mach 1 grille delete, Mach 1 chin spoiler, clear fog lights, 15% window tint on sides and 5% on quarters and rear, Eibach lowering springs, 4.6L hood scoop stickers. There's the list of my exterior mods and I couldn't be happier with the whole outcome. Also, got sequential tail lights and getting headlights with black housings and clear corner reflectors. Then to performance
