Re: Mach 1 Specs

Manual Machs had a forged crank while an auto Mach uses cast cranks.. Auto and Manual Machs both use cast rods and pistons, however.

And yeah; Mach seats are awesome!

They also come stock with an upgraded Tokico suspension and sit roughly 0.5-1" lower than GTs.

Right on fellas.

I like the Cobra styling but can't afford it so I'll just charge my car.

Bonus with the Cobra is of course forged internals.

I never considered insurance, great point.

I did see a couple beautiful ones with about 70k for about 17k.

I have to say, Terminators are right the beside the 70 Boss 429 as my favorite Mustang.

Re: Mach 1 Specs

The Machs are definitely a favorite of mine...wanted one so bad in high school but they were a bit too rich for my blood at the time

Two uncommon things I've heard of are that the valve covers on the 03's are painted black while the covers/plug covers are not on the 04 engines (bare aluminum finish).

Also the Machs came with 3/4 length subframe connectors that bolt in, though I've heard they suck compared to the full length weld ins you can buy.

Only the Terminators will have the forged internals. Im loving my DOHC but Im looking to work magic on a 5.4 DOHC. As far as any other Mod motor Cobra the internals are the same as the Manual Mach. And yes a taller overdrive is used to offset the 3:55's for mileage. .67 for the GT with 3.27's and .62 for the Mach with 3.55's

*Engine and Transmission Modifications

The functional Shaker is modeled after the original 1969 Shaker. The Shaker is mounted to the intake manifold and directs fresh air to the air filter tray assembly.

The dual 57mm throttle body feeds air through a cast aluminum intake manifold and into a set of new high flow four valve cylinder head.

The new cylinder heads house a 5.4L 4-valve intake cam and a high performance exhaust cam. This cam combination greatly enhances torque at lower engine speeds.

A new set of exhaust manifolds are port matched to the new cylinder heads.

The mufflers are tuned to create a unique sound and the tips are chromed setting the Mach 1 apart from other steeds in the stable.

*Taken from Ford's Press Specifications.

The Mach 1 axle has been upgraded with a high torque differential that is coupled to a set of 3.55:1 final drive gears.
