I've had Lamborghini Doors before.. Worst thing I've ever done to a car. Shocks have to be constantly replaced. Girls like to look at it, hate having to lift them. People try to close the doors themselves and end up slamming them before the door aligns properly to be shut, damaging the trim. Having the struts go out on you while the door is up and it slams down. Also universal kits might have you cut into your fender. Results in the flexing and air/water leaking into the car.. Also they might not align properly.

I'm sure there are kits that work perfectly fine and are professional fit. My kit was universal and cost about 700 retail, I went budget. But they are very impractical. Only meant for show car garage queens.

Have to say though, I wish I had lambo doors when someone parks 10" from my car. It would be a lot easier than crawling in from the trunk...

That was the only good benefit of having Lamborghini door.. But then you realize the person who parked close to you doesn't and still dings you. >

Re: Lambo doors on a 99 gt?

It b cool for couple weeks but would get old. I guess probably wouldn't be to bad on a weekend car. Its your car tho, do what makes you happy. Post pictures if u go that route.

I had them on my last mustang n have to say I am actually a fan. Turns heads like crazy n always a good conversation starter. A lot of ppl hate because ya it is a bit "showy". But whoever was saying that there annoying for passengers to close was completely right. No one knows how to close them properly and end up slamming ur door like crazy. I turned into a valet attendant. Wouldn't go back, not worth the money. But if u like attention ull def get it

I'm a fan of the vertical doors , but I agree they would be best served on a garage queen-show car, if you do it don't go cheap the hinges on the cheap kits fail , they bend, and twist and even heard of a few just letting the door drop, there is only one kit that's guaranteed not to fail and that is the kit from vertical doors inc. that kit will run you about a 1,000-1,100, that's not including install

Dumb. Waste of money! Spend it on performance it's not a Lambo so therefore it doesn't need Lambo doors.

Ok I have a functional need for the vertical doors. I live in Japan and my 97 GT is very hard to get in and out of here in Tokyo. It was fine when I lived outside the city. Looked at a couple of sites and asking for feedback from those that have used them. I believe the cheap universal kits are a bad call. I have looked at Mr Body Kit and Vertical Doors Inc. Both sites are similar. Anyone with supportive info that can help out?

In my experience with cars that have vertical doors is they don't line up right and the body and door get damaged because of it. These weren't my cars btw. Customers cars.

Well I'd usually agree with the "don't do it" response. But being that I've lived in Japan, been to Tokyo several times and know how small parking spots are and how cramped everything is over there, well I get it. To everyone who has never been. Imagine you had to park a hummer in a compact car spot between two other hummers in compact spots and that's how cramped Tokyo is.

Another plus, well Japanese girls will dig it it will be segoy 😆😆😆 plus you can sell the car over there for more because Japanese guys will think it's great.

If you know what its like then you would understand lol. I'm normally one of the guys that says don't do it also. But with spots that tight i would consider it also.

This would be acceptable but I hate lambo doors with a passion. And seeing them on a mustang, well let's not go there.
