Pulled a CEL with a P0300 code "random misfire"... Caused by the secondary timing chain tensioner not holding oil pressure on passenger head. So learn from my mistake and buy all new tensioners if you do cams...

I fixed the problem... Doing a DynoJet run today

I live in Northern Indiana... A friend of mine in Evansville, IN strongly suggested I go to him for the tune. Glad I did!

It put down much lower #'s on this dyno... But everyone that dyno'd today said it reads lower...

352 rwhp
324 rwtq

The car is running better, but my CEL came on again for random misfire... I am gonna try and figure that out later...

I am gonna guess my real #'s are somewhere in the middle of my 2 dyno results... 370 rwhp / 345 rwtq.... Maybe?

I will post dyno vid tomorrow.

Now, this was on a Mustang Dyno, which I believe read lower than a dyno jet. On May 18th, I will have a DynoJET number.

I still feel this is a pretty good number for a N/A motor with stock compression! It equals about 450 bhp assuming a 15% drivetrain loss.
Damn , all that with just heads and cams , and bolt ons ??

Yep, pretty good results! The final mod list is as follows:

Ported/polished heads
Stage 3 comp cams
Comp Cams adjustable cam gears
Manley 4v valve springs
New lifters/valve seals
Mac LT headers/short H pipe
Bassani catback
Steeda UD pulley kit
MMR intake spacer
BBK duel 65 mm TB
JLT Ram Air intake
Ford Lightning 90mm MAF
39# injectors
GMS Hot Street coils
NGK Iridium IX plugs
EGR delete
A/C delete
PCV bypass

I am happy with these performance mods for now... I am focusing on the suspension/IRS this summer. I already have a LSD with 4.30:1 gears, but just ordered the following:

FTBR IRS bushings
MMR subframe connectors
Bikstein HD shocks

Then when the rest of the suspension is ready... Thinking about a higher compression stroker short block from MMR to top off the performance... I have a stock blower kit from an 04 cobra, but I am set on staying N/A for the time being.

Just installed a line lock, rear seat delete, and welded in my subframe connectors and rear shock tower brace... Will be hitting the strip next Wednesday in Indy if the weather allows... I will post a video and time slips so you guys can get real-life #'s to go with the dyno #'s and mod list...

Track was closed this week for the holiday... So I will get a full video next week. Sorry for the delay... I need to get my hands on a better quality camera anyways. Don't want to be that guy who posts a crappy quality video that's annoying to watch...

Finally got it to the track... The car wheelhopped something awful. Wheelspin was also a factor since I ran street tires. Best ET was 13.51 @ 107mph. I videotaped some runs with the gopro and my wife filmed with her iPhone. I will put together a little video when I get some time. Installing some stiffer shocks and a better shifter before I go back July 20th. (I missed 3rd twice with this POS Steeda shifter)... Maybe a new driver mod would help too, haha.

Installed Lower subframe bushings, Bilstein HD rear shocks, and removed the rear spring isolators (lowered rear end ~3/4"). Reduced wheel hop by 50% or so.

I also removed my intake spacer. (research shows they actually decrease higher-rpm HP)

Improved my best ET to 13.2 @ 108, but still inconsistent with my shifts... MGW shifter is next mod for sure.

Shot a video with my GoPro vs my friend's 2012 5.0. His car is stock with a tune, and is an automatic. Really good race! he later ran a quicker time than my best ET, but I should also be running a little faster with better shift times and better tires (I am launching from idle to reduce wheel spin).

Put an auto in it and you would run 12s consistently. My old gt ran 12.9 to 13.2. Same mph as you but I finally got my 60 foot to a 1.8

It's ruins a cobra by putting an auto in it... It's not really a drag car. If I was building it to be stricktly a straight-line car, then yes, I would then install an auto and a straight-axle immediately. This car is eventually going to be an autocross/road course vehicle... Our Chevelle is our straight-line car. I still would like to get this cobra into the 12's though naturally Aspirated. Tires and a shifter should be what gets me there...

New year. I know this is an old thread, but wanted to update. The new MT ET Street tires and MGW shifter helped me get a 1.7 60 ft, 12.6 @ 109... Clutch slipping though... Just as I improve one thing, another goes wrong. Other mods still the same as before...
