Hmm, I out the Exedy one in when I did my clutch. The only thing it could hinder is how far the input shaft slides in to the bearing, it could be too deep into the bearing. But if there's enough room then I guess it's fine

We put the old bearing against the new one and hit it with a hammer and it got to there and wouldn't go any further

Since my clutch is a stage 2 will an OE flywheel be alright as a replacement instead of resurfacing mine?

Yours is a 98, correct?

I bought an Exedy stage 1 clutch too. I had my flywheel resurfaced, cause I didn't have enough $ at the time to pickup a new flywheel.

Here's the Exedy stage 1 for your 98

The stock setup is spring loaded. Your new is not. Did you pickup a new cable too?

Also, while you are installing your new quadrant, you should put some shims (washers) to help align the quadrant with the cable so the cable lies in the groove of the quadrant correctly. This will make for a smooth clutch movement and also help your cable last longer. Checkout the pic in my post.

Another good idea while your working on your clutch cable is to install a freeplay spring to keep the throwout bearing from riding your clutch pressure plate.

Here's a write-up -->How to make your own clutch freeplay kit

And my thread where I install the install the freeplay mod on my ride. Clutch pedal height adjustment and clutch freeplay mod. The freeplay mod install is within that thread.

Cool, everybody likes that setup. The shims and freeplay mod will still work great for that cable setup.

Cool, I believe 1/2" washers will fit on the clutch actuation shaft.

It's easy enough to do the freeplay mod later if you decide.

You're gonna get a lot of opinions on that, I would do either stock or a stage one clutch. What are your mod plans and how soon do you plan on getting them done?
