| Dyeing my vert top today...
So I'm finally gonna go through with it and dye my tan top black, any suggestions? I'm gonna go with dupli color fabric and vinyl dye. I definitely think its gonna look way more mean with a black top

I think it definetly will look a lot more aggressive... Just make sure to mask off your paint and windows carefully so there aren't any gaps.

Thanks guys I appreciate it, my only regret is the gloss black, I used 2 cans of flat black and it looked awesome, than went with 1 can of gloss and at certain angles its a tad blotchy looking, so tomorrow I'm just gonna tape the whole car off again and go with another can of flat black

You should do a DIY step by step for those who would like to do this on their vert

STEP 1 : Purchase 2 cans flat black and 1 can gloss black of rustOleum vinyl and fabric spray paint ....Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc..(dupli color vinyl and fabric from autozone will work as well)
STEP 2 : IMPORTANT. Make sure you tape off your entire top half of the Stang with newspaper and painters tape..TAKE YOUR TIME, make sure all windows and top half of car is taped off because we absolutely don't want spray paint on our mustangs. See pics below
STEP 3 : Start with the flat black, spray multiple light coats until both flat black cans are gone..make sure you get all exposing parts of the vert top, some areas like the front and sides where it connects to the window have to be sprayed from a downward angle in order to get it black all around and underneath the lip...
STEP 4 : Now it's time for the gloss finish, this is the most important In making sure the top is sprayed evenly, if you miss a spot the sunlight will let you know because the gloss really shines in the daylight, I was actually debating using the gloss finish or not and I'm happy I did, makes the top look brand new!
STEP 5 : your done, enjoy a beer, take a look at your car and smile
Sorry I didn't take more in depth pictures for ya guys

How did you reach over to get to the middle of the top of your car? Small ladder or step stool?
