Possible oil leak

I was under my car looking at my exhaust and I seen oil all around the oil pan looks like there is no oil above the oil pan looks like I might need a new gasket? I tried tightening the bolts but the wouldn't budge. I will post pictures below. See what you guys think

Be careful, you can overtighten the bolts. If you are going to do the gasket make sure you have enough room to fully remove the oil pan from the car to properly clean the surface.

Yeah I didn't try to hard but the didnt move. Yeah I'll try to get a new gasket this week. So ill drain the oil then drop the pan clean it and the area around. But look at the pictures I just posted there is a lot around close to the filter maybe it's just not right enough but I don't have any oil dripping its just around the gasket and filter. Ill have to check it out. Car will be shopped for a few weeks basketball starts this week won't have much time. And I'm in highschool lol.

It's only leaking on the drivers side of the engine? I would double check the tightness of your oil filter. It's possible that your oil filter gasket didn't seat right.

I would check the oil filter housing. Have the car running while its jacked up to see if its leaking from the housing could be what happened to me i changed the oil pan gasket to find out later it was the oil cooler gasket -_-

One thing you can try is get a couple cans of brake cleaner from autozone and clean all the oil off really good. After that have buddy turn the engine on and hold the rpms at about 2000 while you look at the oil pan from underneath

What do u mean? Clean the bottom off leave the oil inside the car and make sure u have enough oil then like he said have someone hold it at 2k rpm while u search for the leak. It will more than likely be by the oil cooler.

Ok well if u plan on an oil change i would see if u can find it first. It would suck if u change the oil then clean under the car and then find out its something like the oil cooler or filter housing cause then u have to drain out all the oil again to replace it.

Yeah, you really need to clean everything after your oil change and check it again in a couple days. You are showing alot of oil around the filter and oil doesnt travel uphill, im guessing your fine just left over oil from the last oil change probably puddled on the rack n pinion and then made a mess over time.
