More or less sound is the difference. I think the x pipe get like 3 more horsepower than an h if that. H pipe is more if you want that old school muscle car sound and x pipe is more for a raspy sound. I have an off road Magnaflow x pipe and I love it. Here's mine!

+11 if your more about overall performance and less about sound!.. But with the right setup an O/R X-pipe can sound nice and throaty too!.. I've got a O/R X-pipe with CherryBomb Vortex cat back on mine and I love it!.. And ya typically an X-pipe will net you about 3hp more over a H-pipe, but that's usually on the top end!..

This post made my brain bleed. Assuming you mean:
I'm going to take the stock pipe with six cats off and want to know what [mid pipe] would be better to but back on?

I would say only replace it with an off road (catless) mid pipe if you can get past emissions without them. An x pipe may net you a little top end horsepower but a H pipe usually yields slightly better low end torque. Neither is a factor large enough when you consider the difference in sound. The H will be a deeper more classic sound and a x will be more aggressive and raspy.

A buddy of mine has the exact same cat back I have!.. Only difference between our two rides is that he has a O/R H-pipe and I have a O/R X-pipe, his is slightly deeper in tone, but you can only tell the difference when both cars are side by side!.. Other than that every one thinks I have an H-pipe!.. It all depends on your set up, and type of mufflers your running!.. I have heard some H-pipe sit-ups that sounded raspy!.. And typically both yeld the exact same HP and torque in the low end, it's just that the X-pipe is more free flowing so that is why you'll see 3hp more over the H on the top end!..

I know!.. That's why you put it aside as "Tuner Only Money!.." Plan your build, then go about it when funds are there for the next mod!.. Do it right and your not doing it over later on, and you'll save more in the long run!..
