| Power capability of the 4.6l 2v
Kind of curious what kinda power can be seen out of these cars with the following mods.
Lt headers
O/r h pipe
Catback exhaust
Cai
Tb
Larger maf
Intake
Heads
Would one be able to get 400 hp out of one of these motors with these mods?

I'm no professional by any means, but you can probably get close with those mods. I would say maybe 370?? Maybe? 400 horses with a N/A 2V from what I've seen is pretty tough to obtain.

From want I have read 400 from a n/a 2v will take some serious time and $ and you will have to run race gas. It will not be a DD...320-350 max for a safe n/a dd. my car has CAI,78mm tb, cat back, pro chamber mid pipe, 93 race tune and I would say I'm pushing 260-280 to the wheels if that...stock we push 260 crank, about 230ish wheel

Honestly, pull your motor and rebuild it with a forged kit. Then slap boost on it and he happy all day....if u don't have that kinda cash ATM.. Buy a SC and run 6lbs of boost and start saving your $. 6lbs of boost with your boltons will give you around 380 with a mild safe tune. I wouldn't push it till you have the $ to rebuild that sumbiotch.

My plan is to buy a block setup from mmr with internals when I get the $ and then get some trick flow heads with sc cams and a sc, not sure if I want roots or config ATM but that's what I wanna do.

They were used in all 99 Cobras, and a bunch of the 2001s had it as well.

The teskid block is found in your lincoln mark viii's and cobras. Marks were the FIRST to have to DOHC 4.6L. Cobras got them in 96. Teskid block can handle 1500HP WITHOUT modification to the block itself. Marks had a cast crank where the cobra had a forged. Teskid blocks were made in italy ---------- Post added at 02:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:31 PM ---------- The teskid block is alot stronger than the other blocks. check out 32vNomad's write up on the swap from 2v to 4v in his new edge. LOTS of info about them there.
