HIDs....

Yes I'm sure these hid posts are getting annoying and some ppl dislike them so much but I only want them because I love good vision at night especially when I hit up the casino.. its a long dark drive lol and deer galore so it would be nice to see... Now I have a tinted houseing headlights and I've heard to go with a 55w setup for them and I was woundering due to the fact the 55w produce more heat will that affect my smoked lights??

55w will be fine...i've run them in even the fog housings without issue. btw for those that think you can't get a decent cutoff with HIDs...learn to use a screwdriver

Not everyone...

Plus I have yet to have my safety affected by exhaust or window tint.

Not everyone has to agree with my opinions. One of the great things about this country. I'm simply outspoken about these lighting systems because I feel they are dangerous for public safety and the law agrees with me.

yes and no....

HID headlights are legal........but if u put HID lamps and wiring in non-HID housings its illegal, basically HID housings have reflector in them to keep HID lights from blinding oncoming drivers. I have a tented housing and I have aimed mine down a little more than normal and it's fine. I have more problems with vehicle like the new Cadillac Escalade that blinds me every night on my way home......it's worse than my car.

Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply

NHSTA opinions and laws:
http://dsl.torque.net/images/techdoc..._Crackdown.jpg
Mr. Jeff Deetz, Sales Manager, Santeca Electronics, Inc., 7215 East 21st Street, Suite D, Indianapolis, IN 46219
Mr. Simon S. Shih, 4 Teal, Irvine, CA  92604
Mr. Song M. Kim, C.M.O./Fanteks, Inc., 580 Sylvan Ave., Suite 1A, Englewood Cliffs, NJ  07632

Bottom line is ANY HID conversion system installed in a halogen housing is illegal according to federal NHSTA law. I have seen several opinions written by police officers stating they simply place a sheet of white paper in front of a suspected vehicle and write the ticket if there is any blue tint to the light as this is also a violation of several state and federal laws.

Don't entertain him, he loves trying to enforce laws but I keep asking since he's soooo worried about the laws why don't he become a cop and help. He avoids the question every time.

I love my HIDs, I think if you go smoked headlights HIDs are a must. Inspection stickers are being given everyday over here an all my buddies have them and nothing is ever said not one person had gotten a ticket for having them.
You find people in life that feel the need to complain over and over again about EVERYTHING he's sadly one of them, if you look on almost every HID thread he's there complaining.

Have I pissed in your cheerios or something? I have never openly spoken negatively of you yet you insist on openly attacking me, and just me, every chance you get.

I answered your question via PM but will post my answer again here, in the open forum, to appease your curiosity.

I have screws and metal plates in my body from surgeries about 10 years ago and police/fire/military all have no hardware policies which would prevent me from holding a field position with any.

Now that your question has been answered...again...please stop following my posts around the forum and openly posting against me.

Thank you.

I'm simpy sick of being blinded by uninformed or underinformed drivers on the road. My safety comes above your perceived vision.

I will also continue to post my opinion on this forum on this topic and others. If you don't want to see my opinion feel free to go to my profile and put me on your ignore list.

Smoked headlights look sick on our cars but down side is at night it's hard to see with stock lights. With a set of HID it makes it great at night I have never been flashed or anything like that.
