2001 Cobra tail lights

Hey guys, Im gonna tell you a sad story, last night some stinky rats stole the tailights out of my 2001 . (dont ask me how) I started looking for some stock lights to put them in my car and after i bought a set, I saw my wiring harness was different! i completely forgot that my tailights had an extra light bulb. I see theres a cover on the stock lights where the amber part of the cobra ones is, my question is, can i just remove the cover and stuck the extra light in there? or does anyone know where can i find some cobra tailghts that are not extremely expensive?

thanks guys any help is greatly appreciated

Expect to spend $4-500 for a pair, no way around it. You will have to rewire your tail light assembly to use the others.

Damn that's a lot for tail lights. When I first read this, I was like why the f*ck would someone even bother stealing tail lights. Now I guess I could understand a little bit more when they cost $4-500. Sorry for your misfortune op. maybe try a local junkyard.

Screw that, i guess ill just re-wire my harness to make the stock lights work......does any one if someone sells a pair of headlights for the cobras without the amber part? Like all red but for the cobra wiring harness? Im hoping the 03-04 terminators have the same harness as the 99-01 cobras

Don't quote me on this but I think the 99-01 cobras have diff wiring from the flasher(signal switch) all the way to the tail lights including a diff relay I know about the relay bc I had to get a new one when I did the conversion on my 04 GT and I had to cut a wire under the dash that I'm not 100% sure what it was so if not impossible is pretty hard to make your standard red tails work on your 99-01 cobra but I think there's a write up somewhere in another forum google it and you'll find out if you can or you can't do that
Good luck
