So WRX and STI are totally diff cars? I always thought it was a WRX --STI edition

You are basically correct. The WRX is basically a detuned STI with a more practical suspension. They are both Imprezas

STI is about $10,000 more. It is worth it if you are going to drive it on the track a lot. The differences are worth the extra $$$ IMO. You basically get a 6 speed, locking diff, suspension, brakes, and 18" wheels. The regular WRX is quicker than the STI but will get eaten up on a road course.

Venomouz, please don't buy a salvage titled car.. They are HELL to resell no matter what the damage was. I've got a guy in New Orleans with a Black Mach with 75k on it for like $10k.

Not true. The engine and turbo are the same. Internals are all the same. Intercoolers are different. The power difference comes from the tune. You can safely push the same boost in both cars

Ah I see I see. Well in that case STI it is, im turning into a corner carver over a dragster dude. So im sure a STI would fit me. Big buck diff but im sure its worth it. Unless you take that 10k diff and beef up a WRX,

Very true sir. Either way you will get an awesome car. If I could've afforded the $10k extra I probably would've went for the STI. Look into an Evo also. They can handle more power and have comparable track capabilities. You won't be disappointed with any of the three.

I don't know about the new models but the older STIs have a bigger turbo and different pistons.

Yes. True for the older models. Motors were different also. I'm not too sure what years that spans though. The newer ones are more similar than they are different
