This type of thing is kind of like the v6 to v8 swap. Most people will tell you it is not worth the time or money and better off buying a stang that comes with a 6 speed...

That out of the way, i do know that there are 6 speed transmissions made for the 05-09 that run around $3,000 but i am not really sure if there are any for the 96-04, other than the cobras. If you were to do it you would need a tranny from a cobra and get all the necessary parts to swap it out, if you could find a donor cobra with all the parts you could most likely do it fairly easily.

oh if you went from 2v to 4v then it will be a lot easier to swap the trans because it will bolt up easier, should have mentioned that earlier lol... If you can find one with the necessary parts it should be fairly easy.

T-56 is what came in the termis. If I was looking to do a swap, I'd look into t-56 magnum

You'll need the tranny, cross member, driveshaft, and maybe clutch cable. That should be all
