I have a 2001 mustang i want to place a cobra independent rear end under.?

i have found a 2000-04 cobra rear end to place under my car. i was wondering if it would work with out mods

Why? The people who bought Cobra's couldn't wait to swap the GT's solid axle onto their cars.

A well designed solid axle is way better than a poorly designed independent suspension.

it will bolt right in, depending on your horsepower i would stay with the solid rear end. unless you want a comfortable ride as well as a nice handling ride so you can go road racing. if you will be drag racing stay with the solid rear axle in my opinion. although i have read else where that the independent rear suspension is great for all uses. i mean corvettes and vipers that are running consistent 9 seconds down the quarter mile are using an independent rear suspension. well check out this article and read for yourself how good the independent rear suspension is.

It will work, but not without several key modifications. Will definitely not be a wekend carport change.
