anti-theft system

i pull into the garage after riding around for about 45 minutes, roll up the windows, turn the car off, put it in park, open the door, lock the doors, (not nesesarily in that order) and the theft light is blinking, little bell intermitantly chiming, lights on (no horn) like the car thinks someone broke in. I put the key back in, turn the car on, then off, take the key back out, still thinks it is being broken into. I ended up disconnecting the battery and going to bed.

Any ideas as to why this would happen, how to reset the car when it thinks it is being broken into, why the horn wouldnt be going off too, or if it will still be happening when i connect the battery back up?

Re: anti-theft system

in my blazer you put the key in and start the car and it goes off. the blazer has all auto lights and is what i mostly drive and mostly have the mustang out during the day, my dinging was the "your lights are still on" ding and the theft light blinks whenever the car is off so it was not my alarm going off. so try starting it or if you have remote lock, locking/unlocking the doors with the remote. I dont think you can completely disable it unless it is an aftermarket alarm.
