Is an off road H-Pipe legal in Iowa?

I have purchased an off road h pipe for my 1999 mustang gt with flowmaster super 44 mufflers and I was wondering if having the off road h pipe installed was legal? I heard it was and then some say it isnt, so idk, and I live in Iowa, if that helps.
ps. the h-pipe would remove the cats

Nope, it's not street legal in any state as it removes the cat and thats against federal law. Car will not pass any DOT checks, state inspection or emissions tests

Even if you don't have to have smog/emissions test done, it's still against federal law to remove cat converters from any car that came from factory with them (all cars since 1974/75)

Your best course of action would be to ask a local cop maybe a state trooper and see if you can get a truthful answer.

Generally, any modification to the anti-smog system is against the law. It's a federal requirement that all anti-smog devices remain on the vehicle as designed.

No it is not legal. It's a federal offense to remove catalytic converters in all 50 states!!

if it says for off road use only then its not usually street legal and if you had to remove the cats then definitely illegal
