5th gear, gear noise?

Randomly i shift into 5th gear and i hear a gear noise coming from the tranny area. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Are you auto or manual? Also you gotta be more specific on what kind of noise. Video possibly?

5th gear is an overdrive gear, meaning it is not synchronized. If it's just a faint and metallic spinning sound, then you're fine; it's supposed to.
