Kenne Bell

What do you all think of a kenne bell 2.1 with 9 psi on a stocker 04 GT with like 25k on it?

it sounds like a blast to me, and not toooo much strain on the engine but i dont really know. any thoughts?

is this a fabulous way to blow up a 2v 4.6?

im mainly guessing that it would be fun/ not to terrible for the engine with a good tune on it. i just remember really wanting a root style blower back when someone was making a kit for the 99-04 V6 cars to put an Eatons M-90 on them.

Re: Kenne Bell

it would be a great blower. the kenne bell also has that specific whine to it. but if you do that your gonna have traction problems if you dont mod your suspension and get some good tires... 400hp can hook up on regular old 245 tires just throwing out some advice

Re: Kenne Bell

Shouldnt be too bad. Dunno if those are aftercooled/intercooled, might be something to look into.

The problem with roots/twin-screw blowers is the stress they put on the rotating assembly at the bottom end of the rpm range where the load placed on the motor is greatest.

Also it would be a M112 Eaton FYI. A M90 is from the tbird SC and is way too small to be of any use on a 4.6L. Hell even the M112 is barely efficient enough past 15psi to do anything more than blow heat.

I think as long as you treat the car fine with the 2.1L and dont overly abuse it, have a safe tune and support, you will be good to go.

Re: Kenne Bell

the 99-04 gts can handle about 450rwhp (I wouldnt personally push them above 400rwhp) and if the tune is right and its not beat on~ it should be ok... but its just one of those chances you have to take. If its around 20k I wouldnt touch it (i doubt its that much) cuz thats 03 cobra territory.
