The Dorman "PI" intake has the same lower plenum as the stock non-PI, it is of a lower total volume and does not breath as well as a real Ford PI-intake. It looks as though they grafted a PI top half mold to a non-PI lower half as a cheap way of production.
I bought one from a FLAPS as a "I would like to fix this now option" when my intake let go beneath the T-stat housing. Got it home, opened the box, took one look and brought it back. I should have taken a photo of the two, but didn't--here's one I found on the web.

I'd spend the $200 and toss the Dorman in the trash...
