Looks good though

A Mach 1 chin Spoiler , and Grille Delete , and headlight restoration would bring that ponys face up!
How do I know if its an early 2001 or late.. Because all the performance parts on AM are like early 01 and late 01 what the difference

Check the date on the door jamb. I believe before June of 01 was the early, and after June is late 01

Is it better to have one or the other?

It is just some changes they made. I believe between the 2 years they changed the transmission as well.

You have a late 2001 .. You can tell by your interior, and Exterior

( Different Side Scoops , Different Center Console , Different Radio , Different Intake Manifold , Water Pump.. Etc. )

I say Late is better because you also have the TR3650 Transmission , which is stronger than the previous T45

Don't forget to check the typical things like tires, brakes, cracked reservoirs, leaky power steering pumps, cracked/worn hoses/ belts, rust in the trunk/fenders/door jambs...

The one thing I wish I had in mine is the leather interior. That is a nice GT. Price is definitely right and low miles.

The tr-3650 is supposedly better, but I think they are factory rated at almost the same. Kind of like the Borg Warner t-45 from a 98 cobra is rated like 5 ft/lb of torque less than the t-45 in the 99-01 gt

---------- Post added at 07:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:15 AM ----------

Both still have problems with the 4th gear synchro. If you test drive it watch for 4th gear, make sure it shifts smooth and clean to it. It's not a hard fix though even if it is a little rough

One big question to ask is, has it blown a spark plug. The 99-03 GT PI heads are known for blowing spark plugs due to limited amount of threads in the head for the spark plugs. 04 this was fixed on the PI heads. You might not get a straight answer when you ask. I will say the 99-04 GTs are a very reliable and the 4.6 is a very good engine and there are TONS of them out there.

Other issue is cracked intake manifold. One issue I have been finding out is if the engine sounds like a diesel its a loose timing chain or loose cam bolt. If its a manual the throw out bearings have issues a lot. Look for these things.

I still say you can't go wrong with a good fox-body. So much you can do with them with aftermarket parts. There's a reason why they sold that platform for 15 years.

I think you'd probably have a lot more options for power add ons with the GT than the V6 though. It's up to what you're looking to add on to the car to make it how you drive it.

Here's a link to the info on our fox.

A really nice car looking for a good home. We're not desperate to sell it. If we don't get any reasonable offers, we will be hanging on to it. Thank you for your interest.

Not a big fan of the foxes.....but I really liked how clean and "untouched" yours is. And your Shelby........sexy!!

TR3650 are better and stronger . That's why ford replaced the T45.. They wouldn't put a weaker transmission in replace

Normally the V6 version doesn't have fog lights. The rear bumper doesn't have cut outs for the exhaust. It has only one exhaust and the V8s all have dual exhaust. Mostly everything else is the same. Later years the V6 started to do premium packages that they put the hood scoop and side scoops on. A lot of the time when you find a V6 Stang it's not been the best taken care of car. If it was an older cople that owned one they've been taken care of.

ITs all about waiting and finding the right deal. I couldnt find anything for about 6 months....ended up buying mine in early november. 04 GT, lowered (maximim motorsport springs), magna flow exhaust, custom audio, rear shock tower brace, aftermarket rims, slotted and drilled rotors, mach 1 chin spoiler and CAI for $9200. the best part is...only 69,000 miles on it. the deals are out there just be patient and im sure you'll find what your looking for.

I will agree with everyone else though. the sound the 2V makes is just so damn sexy. my friends that have new (05+) GT's actually like the way mine sounds compared to theirs.
