cant go wrong with any of the 99-04 gt's. our 2v's arent so fast stock but IMO the 2v and 4v's sound the sexiest hands down. as long as the car rides fine and doesnt seem to beat up

I figured if I got a 05-09 v6 I wouldn't be satified and want to keep it for a long time.. Is there a difference in any of the years?

The 4v sounds so good. I thought my gt had a sexy sound by my 4v screams. If you're looking for a gt you looking for an auto or manual

When I look at used cars, I look underneath, not only for rust, but to make sure they didnt use it for off road. Be suprised at what you can see under there.

I've got an 05 GT and love the Roar from the exhaust. But, my friend has an 04 and its definitely a sexier sound. I just prefer the retro styling of my 05. Now, my grandpa has a 67 fastback with a rebuilt 302......nothing compares to the beautiful rumble that carborated monster puts out.

Why not go with a 05-09 GT. The V6 wont sound much better than a 350Z, unless you put I.H.E. on it. Plus those 4 lights in the front really make it stand out. But honestly its all about what you want man. Post some pics once you get your new pony!

I picked my GT up for $12,000. With only 83k in miles on it. Check out cars.com. Always deals on there.

Man, I found 4, 05-09 GT's within 80 miles of Lincoln, NB for under $15,000. 3 of which have less than 80k in miles. One with less than 90k.

I've got a 2000 gt but if I were getting a new car and couldn't afford the 05 and up gt try to find a used 2011 v6 mustang. It has 305 hp and 280 tq vs the 99 to 04 gt which has 260 hp and 302 tq. Plus the v6 will get better mpg. I don't know if the 2011 v6 stock will outrun a 04 gt stock or not but you might not race yours I don't race mine so I'm nor really concerned about that. I think the dohc variable cam v6 would sound good.

Dont get a V6, no offence to anyone with one but where I live v6s are all driven by girls or jerks that think they are fast. (im talking about the older ones) Plus there is always v6s cars everywhere you go, not many v8s running around.

I'm an owner of 2 v6 and 2 and a half 5.0 fox and my girlfriend would drive my 5.0 everyday before stepping foot in her v6. And I know a large group of sixxers who are respectable people. Here honestly most v8s are driven by dicks or older people.
No offense sorry just a little defensive

I'd definitely get an 99-04 GT over an 05-9 V6. I think what you want to look out for on them is that the intake can develop a crack in them from being made out of plastic and going through a lot of heat cycles. Also check out the ABS, they are known to have some issues by this point in their lives. The doorpanels are also known to have some issues with broken panels and what not, but that's usually just normal wear and tear and can be replaced. Make sure the windows go up and down at the same speed, those regulators are notorious for going out also. You are probably going to need to invest in new headlights also, I hardly see any driving around with the ones that originally came on the car unless they have been garaged all the time.

But I agree that the 2v and 4v sound awesome. That's the only thing I don't like about my '06 GT is that the 3v doesn't have that great of a rumble to it IMHO. It took me about 4 exhaust combos to get what I have now and I'm still not THAT satisfied with it, but it's OK for the time being lol.

But needless to say, good luck on the pursuit! Be sure to check out craigslist, cars.com, and autotrader.com. They are all great resources to see what you can get for your money.

Well as I respect your opinion I think as far as the v6 mustangs go the 2011 and up with 305 hp are the best ones. Now if money is available I would always buy a gt. that's just my opinion. But the new v6 is the first non v8 mustang that I would not be bothered owning. I would think my stock 2000 gt would get smoked by a stock 2011 v6.

I'm selling our 1988 GT with <29,000 miles. You can't beat a foxstang for a good platform to build upon!

I have bought an 05 sixer and an 07 GT from CARMAX plus an Impala and Sentra. They are a little Pricey, but I NEVER had any issues with the cars.

I don't know that the 11 V6 would smoke a new edge GT. It would depend on the gears & driver. I prefer the GT but it's hard not to like the new V6 Stangs. Better mileage, lighter weight. They don't look as mean or sinister as a GT but that's not what a lot of guys are looking for.

I think you'd probably have a lot more options for power add ons with the GT than the V6 though. It's up to what you're looking to add on to the car to make it how you drive it.

A really nice car looking for a good home. We're not desperate to sell it. If we don't get any reasonable offers, we will be hanging on to it. Thank you for your interest.

Look for Cracked Intake Manifold ( Mostly Were thermostat is and back of manifold were heater hose connects.. )

99-01 come with crappy manifolds
If its a late 01-04 it should have updated manifold

Check for clutch issues if standard.. Slipping clutch ( floor it and if it doesn't go anywhere and Rpms are up then clutch is slipping. )

Also Throw out bearings go out on these things all the time .. You will notice it while at idle and if you push clutch in it will go away ..

Also check the heater .. Put on full blast and if you smell a sweet smell or see any water stains near driver floor .. Heater core is bad and that's expensive fix

Just check for oil leaks and rack and pinion leaks ..
Bad mounts ..
Bad suspension ..

Basic stuff

Just make sure to do the things I said for clutch .. And check that manifold ..

Looks good though

A Mach 1 chin Spoiler , and Grille Delete , and headlight restoration would bring that ponys face up!
