Help! 2004 gt won't hook up

He guys I'm new here and new to the Ford badge. I recently purchased at auction a 2004 gt
40th anniversary with a automatic. The car has tons of mods but I know there is no way to tell whats in the internals in the engine without taking it apart. I took it to a local ford mechanic and he said the mods he can tell is a trick flow track heat intake, twisted wedge heads with trick flow valve covers, k&n cold air intake, bbk throttle body, and aftermarket mass airflow sensor, the car is running a 150 pill in a jet sprayed before the mass airflow sensor. I am not a Ford man at all so my question is how do I get this car to hook up all it wants to do is spin off the line. Once it hooks up it is surprisingly fast. Any feedback will help. Thanks I wanna know so I can put it on my friends that run a Bowtie on thier grill!

Pill before the maf¿ nitrous¿
could just be that she's a beast, also try going with the pedal and don't stab the go pedal,
Is your speedo reader off¿ if it is you could be geared, though regardless if your speedo is or isn't off the previous owner could have recalibrated it, what are you rpms around 70-75mph¿

Yes nitrous lol. Wider and stickier tires. Like he said, feather the pedal don't mash it.

Around 2100 at 70. I love the car it spanked my brothers 2010 ss Camero at a 30mph roll bad but I only got him by a fender in the quarter mile from dead stop he jumps way out on the start but that silver mustang runs him down about half track

2100 at 70. 3.27 gears. Get some 3.73/4.10 and sticky tires and that thing will jump.

I don't spray the juice till I hit second gear and when I hit the juice I leave it spraying all the way through the quarter. It spins bad off line just straight motor.

No lol I have to spray to beat his 6.2 stock ss but I don't spray till it hits second gear. The banker that told me the car was getting repoed is a friend of mine and he said the guy had the motor rebuilt and its supposibly stroked but I know nothing about modular v-8 and I didn't figure u could stroke them. How can I tell if it is can I drop the pan and measure crank?

What tires are you running? Just put it this way, my current stang with 455 rwhp and drag radials hooks up better than my stock 2k gt did with Kuhmo summer tires. No exaggeration. Other suggestions would be to relocate the battery to your trunk...maybe some full length subframe connectors (some may disagree but from my experience i felt like i was able to hook up better after install).... i would look to see what springs you are running in the rear as well. Just some ideas. Best of luck with your new ride. Sounds like a good time

Usually not being able to hook up is a driver problem, gotta learn how to launch and control the traction. Wider wheels and stickier tires will help, as well as rear upper and lower control arms.

I am very surprised with car. Someone told me them twisted wedge heads are very expensive but they are worth it cause they are nasty! If it is stroked I wonder with the heads and intake and nitrious I wonder what horsepower range this car is making? If anybody lives around waco tx and knows where I could take it I would like to get it on a dyno

Man I am on here to see what I need to help it hook im not saying I'm the best driver which I said I am new to this I payed 16,000 for this car at a auction this is my first car I have ever owned I have always had hopped up diesels. If u are running 20mph in this car with the shifter in drive and plant your foot down it will gear down and spin and get crazy. Maybe it is just the driver. I am just wondering what all the engine has had done because I know this car is not 260 horse like it came from the factory cause I had a 04 dodge 2500 4x4 crew cab short bed that was modded pretty good and I raced a few stock 04 gt mustangs and they were slow but this car is possessed.

What size on the 305? Should I stay with 17inch or go with new 18 inch wheels and maybe a 10 inch wide back wheel?

17s would be cheaper. You could do 17x10.5 and do a 315 drag radial.

You could keep your stock 17 inch rims and just put 275/45/17 drag radials on the rear or 305/35/17 nittos (nittos runs a little smaller.) that's your problem or if wanna spend aliitle over a 1000$ you could go with some staggered wheels 10.5 in the rear or 10 with 315/35/17

I'm still wondering how much power the twisted wedge heads, and track heat intake gave this car cause they were on it when I bought it? And are they good heads?

I'm trying to figure out how you have pill controlled NOS system but you manually spraying all the way after second?

---------- Post added at 05:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:03 AM ----------

I'm thinking troll

---------- Post added at 05:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:06 AM ----------

And if you wondering on power search for it, this is a forum not a search engine. My guess is between 60-75 more HP but if its stroked they could be P/P so they may be stronger so yeah a dyno

I bought a nos system from a guy that just has one sylinoid a nozzle with set of 4 sets of jets a 50, 100, 150, 200. The nozzle is drilled in front of MAF where u can take nozzle out and Change the pill or tip whatever u call it the power wire is run to a toggle switch and the sylinoid is wired to a button see profile picture u flip toggle to arm then hold down the button to spray it's not rocket science
