More Cowl = More awesome... 4 inch cowls look pretty good, but for a DD i would go 2.5-3.

3" is PERFECT. It's super aggressive, but doesn't obscure the road at all (I'm 6'3", so that helps with visibility though).
I had the same cowl on my 03 v6 and 01 GT.

I would go with Cervini Cobra R 95 hood... I think this one is 3.5" tall...

I paid $750 for mine shipped.
ViS wants $994, but Vivid Racing carries it for $700 and change.
Bear in mind that's for carbon fiber with UV gel coat; fiberglass 3" cowls run $500-$600 plus $200-$300 for prep + paint.

I got my hood from a buddy that works for Trufiber you can check out their website Trufiber.com and see what you like they have a bunch of hoods, of course I got mine cheap but it retails for $750, it's carbon fiber with the uv gel coat.

I ordered mine from ViS Racing with a price-match discount.

Called and said, "hey, your licensed distributor, Vivid Racing, offers your product for X price. I'd rather buy from the manufacturer; will you match that price?"
I got a cool salesman that understands that my $750 can either go to him or to some satellite company wholesaling the product and he only gets a percentage.

The best thing to do is just call a local shop and ask how much to paint a bare fiberglass hood. Simple as that

It's a shot in the dark, but I would guess $300-$400 for the fiberglass prep work and paint.

So that trufiber hood is just a bare hood it's not prepped and ready to paint when you buy it?

No , as with all fibreglass and carbon fibre hoods, your quality companies like Cervinis and tru fibre offer a option to paint at an added cost but then you take the risk of damage in transit , the best thing to do is have the hood prepped and painted in your area
