Frankenstang

So if you guys remember my car got crashed into a tree. This is phase 1 of the repair. The frame has been reinforced and straightened out. Now she's getting ready for paint.

I'm excited

Another progress update on my car for anyone who is interested.

Body shop guy said the tie rods and rack and pinion are bad tho. Any idea if these are fixable for a novice mechanic like myself?

Scratch that I might just have my mechanic do it, seems like a difficult DIY job from research.

less difficult then you think, pretty easy and straight foward, outer tie rods are the easiest, inner tie rods require a tool you can get loaned from autozone or such other auto parts store...... although i dont see how you screwed up the rack and pinion when you hit the tree sideways instead of on the wheel. maybe im just skeptical about him tryin to make a little more on it, but if you are goin to change the rack and outer tie rods, let me suggest you get the x2 bump steer from steeda if you are lowered, deff helps on our cars.

He's not fixing any thing but body work he was just letting me know there is a lot of play in the steering wheel. I might try it I've been reading more about it maybe I can do it.

MY CAR WILL BE READY TODAY FOR PICK UP AFTER 5 LONG DEBILITATING HEART BREAKING WEEKS.

If I don't post pictures later of my car I've taken a shotgun to the mouth because it wasn't ready.

---------- Post added at 09:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:55 AM ----------

This was from last week. The mechanic said he painted it last night and is just cleaning up and detailing today.

Yessir! I still need to buy a wiper cowl grille, re tint my windows, and interior work but this guy has been slow stepping the work because he cut me a deal so hopefully it looks good and it was worth the wait man. I didn't buy the grille thru him because he said it was $275 from ford dealer so I'm going to buy from AM on Monday.

Thanks man. I still need to detail the interior, buy a wiper cowl, plug the holes from my spoiler delete, and nowwww I'm leaking power steering fluid

Instead of Mustang they really strongly should have considered naming this car Money Pit

They're all named Money Pit, its in the small print at the bottom of the window sticker lol. Looks good, hope it drives straight. I'd lose my mind if someone stole my car.
