Dipyourcar

a dipyourcar shop just opened up just 15 minutes from me! I checked them out and entire cars start at 600$..I'm just a week or 2 away from re painting my hood due to a scratch that is beginning To bubble. Now I'm REALLLLLY debating dipping my whole car if they do it for that price..now my question is I've plasti dipped mtiple things on my car and its held up great, but how well/how long does an entire dipped car hold up?

Ask them if they give you any warranty? I think that price is fair for the shop doing it.

I think 600 is a good price because you'd still have to buy the paint gun and paint and spend about ten hours of your own time doing it yourself and I've heard people spend an average of 400 doing it themselves. If that 200 more means a 1 year warranty and ten hours of your time not wasted I say go for it

+1 me either

---------- Post added at 09:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:19 AM ----------

This stuff is actually pretty tough stuff if it gets on there good. I've dipped stuff on my car and been to the car wash many times though I don't hold the nozzle 5" away but give it room and it can handle the pressure. I've done thing on my four wheeler too.

My buddy said it cost him a few hundred he had to buy a paint gun but I guess that boils down to preferences and the paint by the gallon..

Yeah he also used a gun so I guess if you don't have that already then it'll cost a little more after everything

I'm gonna check it out. I just wish it wasn't flat. They need a gloss.

---------- Post added at 01:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:49 PM ----------

Alright after looking at it. I say go for it if you are willing to spend that much money. Looks great.

I'm now really thinking about a flat white with black rims? Idk what color to go with, I just feel like a dipped black is so common, and a fresh white/black stang is gorgeous!

Yea I have a few things I have to ask them about it..I wonder if they do the inside door jams, I could car less about under trunk or hood but I rather have the inside doors done so it doesn't look like crap every time someone gets in, I guess I could always do it myself with a few cans if they don't thought, but there a new shop, if I ask I'm sure they will do it, guy said they offer a 2 month full warranty but said he will always take care of his customers and said if 2 years down the line something messes up, he will fix it for either practically nothing or for free depending on how or what happened to it..and washing it is a main thing I need to know about too, I feel with it being dipped it will probably need a washing a few times a week

Matte white will stain and absorb color if it gets on there
