I've been trying to read up on all the threads about injector color.. and have not got an answer... I do know they were changed in 2002 from Orange to red/lavender color. Or 19-21.. what I want to know is. (First i have a late 2001) Why are mine yellow.. very yellow in my opinion. and do I need or should I change mine to the 21lb

Have you pulled 1 out and got the make or number off it? If not try that and just do a search on it

If you are running dead stock there is no need to change them out. However on the PI engine even modest mods (and a tune) can push the 19 lb/h injectors up to 90%+ duty cycle at high loads and WOT--that's why Ford switched to the 21 lb/h units in late 2002. Read most about basic engine mods here...

Yes, in fact a tune/tuner should be mod #2, after exhaust and before doing anything else...

The SCT handheld will not by itself allow DIY tuning for the 21 lb/h injectors, however if you get the BAMA tunes-for-life package they can/will do that. Just make sure you tell them what injectors you have...
