Why would you want to downgrade to a T45?

I personally like the t45 better just cause u can remove the tranny in 2 pieces. Is the 3650 really that much better?

The T45 is outdated junk, that's why they use them in v6 models and replaced them way back in April of 01 in GTs.
They aren't nearly as strong as a TR3650 will be.

Trust me its not that i want to downgrade because i swear i dont but its an issue of money and i have a family and i really cant beat buying and entire car for 500 that has a good trans in it! I also have a 96 mustang so buying this 98 helps me in 2 ways. I really would like to stay with the 3650 but my car has been down toooo long

You dont need a trans adapter plate for that swap as long as you use a T-45 built for use with a 4.6. All you will need to check and see if the T45 and TR3650 use the same drive shafts and cross member because I dont know off hand.

I was told all of that was fine but the speed control sensors in the 02 were electric and in the 98 the were mechanical or vice versa so thats what im getting at but if thats not going to matter then im good! Thanks for the direct advice.
