Stage 1 Comp Cams and adjustable Cam Gears.

Hey all, I am almost done installing Stage 1 Comp Cams and adjustable cam gears in my 1999 GT. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and what kind of gains can I expect?

The biggest gain from stage 1 is the lope.
I'm sure you'll see 10-15ish peak hp gain and 10-25 peak torque.

I just installed stage 2 cams. My car through a cam sensor mil, when we fired it up. I also used adjustable cam gears, so I'm wondering if the tooth on the cam gear is not big enough to trigger the sensor? Just something for you to consider when installing the gears. I think I may swap back to the stock gears, if my alternator is not causing this code. I replaced the cam sensor and still get the mil light.

You probably didn't set the timing right, it has to be exactly perfect.

I had to buy Comp Cams adjustable gears because on a 99 the gears are pressed on and to small to fit on the aftermarket Comp Cams.

FYI... When we did our cams, we had to use crank bolts to attach the gears to the cams. If you installed them already, cool.

I have my gt at gtr and they're checking the mil code issue. They're also dyno tuning, and installing 4:10s.

Good luck on your install, please keep us posted
