You need a gasket sealer. I used CobraBob's shifter gasket, but RTV gasket-maker will work.

I got it in really quick and easy. It says to not use the screw stoppers on the T56 only did a little test run around the block then put the car away but it feels nice. The reverse is a little tough to get into but its not tobad

Has anyone ordered it from stangmods? I'm going to order from them because it comes with the cobra bob gasket saving me the hassle of two websites and I believe MGW also charges shipping

The gasket didn't fit correctly on my tr3650, so I just used the sealant and it has performed flawlessly.

All cobra bob gaskets or just ones from stangmods?

I ordered my shifter from MGW, and the gasket from another website that I can't remember. I ordered mine a couple years ago, so they might be better now. But I recommend the sealant provide with the kit, it works great.

You can get the gaskets on Ebay now also. I used the CB gasket, works pretty good, RTV does a better job at reducing the noise, but is a pain.

Put mine in 2 weeks ago two days before I went to the track. Fit is good. Feels a little tight still to this day, but it shifts fine. I think it's one of those things you just have to get used to. It being my first STS I'm satisfied, but didn't think it would be quite so tight of a shift.

The tightness is adjustable. There's a little screw that sets how high the handle mounts to the base. Higher mount = looser/easier shifts because physics.
Torque = force x moment arm
A set torque is required to move the shift linkage; the moment arm and force are therefore inversely related, that is, a longer moment arm requires less force to reach the torque limit and vice versa.
