My battery light came on one day and a few days later my altinator went out. I changed it and everything is working fine but the light is staying on. Any suggestions?

not sure what this would accomplish if it comes back on, if the light came on its for a reason, i would test the alternator, most "new" alternators are just rebuilds anyways, and its always possible to get a deffective alty with a bad regulator. "new" means never ever works lol. a battery light on could mean a bad alty or a bad battery with a dead cell. get it checked out at your local autoparts store before we start assuming anything. let us know the findings once those 2 things have been tested. by the way you probably killed a battery cell running the car on just battery, it has happened alot at my job cars come in with dead battery cause their alty died
