Shorty Headers?

I have the chance to get a pair of bbk shorty headers free. I just got help my buddy take them off his wrecked 2002.. Anyone running these.. Any pros/cons.. I no everyone says go with lLT but I don't want to for my own reasons.. 1 I'm getting the shorts free 2 I have about on kit so it won't work with LT 3 they get in the way or more things.. So what good are shortys? And what an install gonna cost me?

If they are free might as well bolt them up, shorties don't really do anything, but they at least look better than the stock manifolds.

From what I've read they don't quite just bolt up.. I'd be paying someone to put them on.. And they deepen the tone a little bit..

They deepen it a little bit, and usually headers can be DIY. You just gotta reach a little bit.

+1. I've got shorties because I replaced my stock manifolds when I snapped the bolts off putting my o/r h pipe on. I brought them to my Friends shop and he had them done in an afternoon. Sounds nice with the h and flowmasters... but then again I did the whole exhaust at once so I couldn't tell you which piece of the exhaust puzzle did what as to opposed to an individual installation. I kind of went with shorties also because if how low my car is and I also heard with convertibles the Lts are a pain.

When you say pain in the *** can you explain? I've been wanting to do an exhaust for a while and can't bring myself to just leave the stock manifolds on if I upgrade everything else.
