Safe and unsafe mods?

Kinda a broad question but... I like to mod my 01 but to want extent can I got without affecting the daily driver status.. If it was my fox I wouldn't care if something went wrong because I can always drive a different car... But I'd like to know everyone's opinions on safe mod for a motor that don't work it too much that would effect motor longevity.. And what is not?
P.s I change oil religiously and keep up on maintainence.

Kinda don't understand you're question. Do you want to do some mods that won't affect you're drivability and longetivity of the car?

Yes.. As in I don't wanna do thing that won't harm the car in any way.. As in... Umm example.. I won't put any Forced injection because I don't wanna take the chance of blowing something...

The exhaust system. There seems to be alot of room for improvement on these cars. Ive always been a big fan of headers. A well designed set of long tubes and the.typical freeing up of the rest of the system in no way affects reliability imho.

Oops. Didn't see your other thread. Plenty of header advice there. Head work would be my next suggestion.

Hahaha me too. I'm a pushrod guy. All the same rules apply though. Head work usually consists of a gasket match port and polish. It can be done to varying degrees depending on your wallet. Or you can give it atry yourself. I believe Summit used to sell port and polish kits. An engine is really just an air pump. The easier you can make it for it to pump that air the better.

Do you own a bullitt? There's a guy around here who has a Bullitt Intake FS and I was considering it but to match cost with gains seamed very minimal considering th bullitt produced only a little more HP and TQ then a regular GT..

Yes I do. The hp and torque gains were minimal. What that manifold does though is broadens the torque curve. A Bullitt makes full torque almost a thousand rpm's earlier. They tried to make it feel like a 390. Iol. They tried. That may be a nice upgrade if you can get the manifold for a good price.

Bullitts have a different throttle body also.
