Upgraded interior is probably a pro. Little more power. Those motors are very boost friendly. A big con for me is how bad those motors sound compared to a 99 to 04 mustang. Other than that I see only upgrades to changing years. Resell value is also higher than a 00.

A lot will say to look for an 07 or up because the 3v was new and people say that had some problems not 100% on that one

He just sold his Terminator and bought a 2009 I believe Roush stage 1 charged Gt.

The front suspension is superior to ours, ford had quite a few years to develop it. But I prefer the look of the 99-04's.

How is the suspension compared to the 01 Bullitts?

I think you should go into the 05 to 09 forum and ask them why their car is better than ours. That would probably give you the most info

Well what do you think we will give him... It's all tit for tat. Ask what they like about it. My dad has a 05 I drive it maybe once a month and it honestly feels like a mid life crisis car. The suspension is so soft it doesn't feel like a sports car. More like a cruising car. He has an h pipe with mags on it and it sounds like crap compared to a new edge. His has supposedly 50 more horsepower than mine yet mine will pull on him in every gear. I've run a 13.4 on radial street tires with 10k miles and he only runs a 13.9 with the same bolt ons.

Here is a thread from another forum where 7 tome scca autocross national champion Sam Strano explains why he runs the new cars over sn95's. it's a little old though.

05-09 GTs are not much faster than the 99-04
I use to run them down all the time in my 01 Gt

Only pros is interior, I'm not a fan of their body style .

Thanks my thoughts

Get a mach1 or cobra !

I personally would stay away from the 05, go 06 or newer really 07 is the best of these years.

Pros, solid proven 4.6-liter, Interior is nicer, they seem to be a little better laid out in terms of working on them.

Cons- rattles, cheap plastic material, and crummy carpet.

But drive both see what you like.

I have the 05 but knock on wood i have no problem with it, i always think my car is the best from the rest no issue at all, my brother in law he has the 09 and he already changed his stereo and ball bearings. But it is all depends on how you take care of your car and it will take care of you.

Wow that is a good part of it. According to the stats you got lucky. From experience the early production models seem to have more issues than the late.

I've got an 06 and no major issues. Knock on wood. Just some minor issues. You are correct Maintenance is the key. I've owned this car from 19,000 on and it's treated me pretty good. A few known issues but overall it's been a great car. Minimal down town. Hopefully I didn't jinx myself

My Chrysler was in and out of the shop all the time. At 100K it fell apart, but I honestly think this one will make it that far if not further.

Yeah if you want to be the first to let one rip in it you better buy new, and hope the guy in the factory didn't
