Cam Question

So what cams would be good. I want hardest loop you can get with as much hp too. I'm not supercharging or turbo. Just all bolt ons any suggestions. And how much hp I will be at.

I have every bolt on but pulleys and long tubes but both will be one within a half a year

Comp 270s are your best bet. You are also going to have to get the car tuned though, figure another $600 for a good dyno tune on top of the cams/install.

I agree 270s will be your best option, of course the wont lope as much as stage 3 comps but lopier the cam the higher it will send power up the rpm, so stage 3 you will lose low end and pick it up top end, but it will be so high that you will redline before you get it.

I know with some cams you can get to 300 to the wheels with an intake and exhaust with a good tune. So untuned I would say a gain of 5 maybe and it will run like crap and with a good tune I will say 40 with a new exhaust and upgraded intake

Make sure you get a tune. With full bolt on and cam you'd be a little north of 300 rwhp. Might as well port and polish your heads too

To achieve 300+rwhp is very hard for 2Vs

You need full bolt ons and Stage 3 Ported heads or badass heads/Cams to get to 300+rwhp

Even H/C/I cars have a hard time making 300 to the wheel.

300 is just a number anyway, the car WILL run better with the cams and make more power and sound better. Plenty of guys making more power on the dyno and losing in a race because of gearing, other mods, tune or the all important driver mod.

IMHO, people get too hung up on dyno numbers, go out and run your **** and see what it does. You get your 60 ft down pat, some good tires, gears, suspension and a strong running engine and see the look on the face of the guy who KNOWS he is making more dyno power than you but has a stock suspension/tires and can't drive for crap in your rearview.

I mean hell I absolutely demolished a 300C the other day and we all know the 5.7 Hemis are making at least 350hp at the flywheel. Dude thought he was going to have an easy time vs a lowly 4.6L and I put an immediate 4+ car lengths on him right out of the hole. Not bragging or anything, those cars are pigs even with the decent power but I'm just using it as an example.
