Exhaust Tips

I'm looking at buying 3.5 or 4in exhaust tips but I don't know what inlet size I would need. Then tip as of right now is 3in for about 14-16in back and then gets smaller and where it gets smaller is where I was going to cut and weld in the newer and bigger ones but I am not entirely sure as to the size of the smaller pipe

If you are running the stock exhaust.More than likely it is a 2 1/4 exhaust .

What if I went like 18in and cut farther back on the exhaust or would those be too long?

You can only cut so far back they start turning up

4 inches on a V6 rear bumper is HUGE and if you can see where its welded onto the stock 2.25 it will look even more off (going from 2.25 to 4 inches)

you can find a longer tip to hide where its welded on that would work better. I loved my 2.75 inch stainless steel tips that were 24 inches long i had on my old 01

The stock tips are about 15 inches long to the tip and this is a little bit of room left so I might go with 18in ones and do any modification if I have to. The main reason why I'm doing this is because they're pretty rusty and I like the look of the 3.5s
