what is this?

Im trying to figure out what this is? Its from the driver side head and it has a single wire coming from it to the coil packs. I cut this off thinking i could just ground it but now just blows the ECM fuse. Also im sure NOT having this is cutting power to my coils and not starting. Its about the size of a postage stamp.

You need to go to a junkyard and get one. It is vital sadly its like a resistor block for the coil packs so yeah it is important. It does cut power ro the pack and would blow the ecm fuse

It is an air-gap capacitor that shunts the high frequency EMI/RFI (Electro-Magnetic/Radio Frequency Interference) "noise" in the electrical system, created by the ignition coils' firing, to ground. There should be one on each side.

They are necessary to prevent that noise from interfering with the PCM's operation--both the micro-controller/memory, and the signals of the several sensors essential to engine operation...

What's this?
What's this?
There's color everywhere.
What's this?
There's white things in the air.
What's this?
I can't believe my eyes, I must be dreaming, wake up, jack, this isn't fair.
What's this?

What's this?
What's this?
There's something very wrong.
What's this?
There are people singing songs.
What's this?
The streets are lined with little creatures laughing, everybody seems so happy, have I possibly gone daffy?
What is this?

What's this?
There are children throwing snowballs here instead of throwing heads.
They're busy building toys And absolutely no one's dead.
There's frost on every window
oh, I can't believe my eyes
and in my bones I feel the warmth
that's coming from inside.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. What's this!
