Go hit up a lawyer and have him draft up a legally binding document for you.

Move on dude, unless you want faqed. All the contracts in the world not gonna help you when he rags it out and gives it back. A contract will get you a judgement against him, but unless he wants to pay you, your chit outta luck. There's a reason why the bank won't loan him money.

It is a good deal but I gotta agree with tc x 4 on this... Too risky.

Then he'll report it stolen if it's not in the contract. I'd just tell him get a loan or no. Not worth getting your car back ruined when he doesn't pay and gettin screwed

If you do this, this could possibly screw you out of a car and a lot of money. Unless you know him personally you never do this. If he can't get a loan there is a reason. Don't do it. I would have a hard time even with family

X100000

I sold a ranger to a cousin, my most "trusted cousin" for 6000$. I've seen maybe $600....and because he was in an accident and the cop made us switch the title over that day he now has the title and there is nothing I can do.

Regardless what it is they won't give more than 6 to 8 at a dealership. Offered me 7 on mine and kbb is 15. The economy isn't for trucks like that right now. I just wouldn't take that chance.

Its not worth it imo, most likely he's not going to pay it if the bank wont give a loan for poor credit because of choosing not to pay or being incapable of paying.
Id walk away and be patient for a good for sure deal.

You do know if you put a lien on the car you can't go take it back, you must first go to court and get permission from a judge. The guy offering you more than the car is worth has you blinded, and no matter what we say, I feel your getting ready to learn one of life hard lessons. If it sounds to good to be true, it is.

If the bank won't give him a loan, why would you by setting him up on payments? This is a lousy idea no matter what doofy angle the buyer puts on it..

I doubt a bank would even be willing to give him a loan even if his credit was squeaky clean, over 100k miles and over 10 years old.

But doesn't mean I would agree to the payment plan he wants to use. If its not cash up front or a certified check.. Its too fishy to risk it

This isn't a good idea, unless you want to trade it for his truck.

If the truck is worth that much talk to a lawyer and see if it's going to be legal see you just get the title signed over to you and you will own it outright. And also check and see if it'll be legal for you to sell it as well.
.
+4500 cash?

You don't need a professional to give advice on a (common sense) issue. One second thought, maybe so because common sense is not all that common.

You may be able to get it in a contract. But think of how many people have payments to make on their house and just walk away from it. It's not that hard to get out of a contract nowadays. If he can't pay you all at once I would say no go. That along with how he is offering you well more than your car is worth is just too suspicious for me. Just think this through and don't make any irrational decisions.

If he has 4500 cash and the truck why doesn't be sell his truck for the balance and just buy your car outright.

Did I miss something?
