Performance wise, no there is no gain to remove it simply cosmetic and easier to get to other parts

If u have a bad egr then its a good idea to replace it

I heard it helps idle a little and mine fluctuates a little too much sometimes

Have u cleaned your TB or MAF? Could be a vaccum leak somewhere too there's numerous things that take play when it comes to idleing
