Any ideas? My buddy is selling me his cowl hood for 200, but it's the wrong yellow. Lol.

Yea. Lol. My dad is a heck of a painter, but we don't have a booth or a setup.

I got my 4 inch cowl hood painted for 533. It was the biggest name company in middle Georgia. Any reputable company will charge at least 400 to do it right. Lowest quote I got was 435 and that seemed like they had no idea what they were talking about. The place I did it at painted it in the morning and put it on that afternoon. Couldn't have asked for any more from them

Wow...... A full professional paint job here is 2000.. Surely it won't be 500 for just the hood. But who knows.

Most places charge 80 an hour for labor and 50 an hour for paint. You get what you pay for and a top of the line paint job is about 5000 to 8000. I paid 7000 for my 1969 and that is show room quality.

Yea, I'm not doubting you, but I'm not talking about motor out, seats out, glass out kinda job. Just a re-do basically. Believe me, I know you get what you pay for.

Yeah but they will get the paint off that hood and then prime it and paint it. Easiest way to find out is to get a quote from somewhere

I'm not doubting you man. It looks sweet. But $8000 for a paint job is crazy. Lol. A frame-up paint job from the top paint place around here is $3k. Just saying. I know they can be expensive. But there's plenty of arguments on these forums about different paint job prices. I do genuinely appreciate the input though. That's what I'm looking for.

Yeah there is a high demand for restorations around here. Mine was a frame off restoration and took me 8 years to finish

I got mine prime and painted and they also did custom placement for the washer nozzle in my cowl hood instead in the hood itself, i dont like the idea of drilling a hole in my new hood. I paid 675 and 100% color match with 2 year warranty. But i leave in MA.. Heres a pic of mine Before : And After : Hope you get a good deal.. Good luck

Most of the estimates I got and have seen is around $500 but that's for finishing, sanding, priming, painting, installing and putting in hood pins on a fiberglass hood.

BTW I think $4k is tops i would pay for a paint job on a Mustang. With that, they better do a hell of a job too. lol

My paint job was for a Chevy truck. C10 with a lot of body work.
