Question

Can someone tell me what the black rubber part is that connects with the stock intake that's in the fender.. I took mine out yesterday but I don't know if it's needed

Intake silencer, it does absolutely nothing except quiet down the sucking a little.

Toss it!!! And keep running a paper filter, no k&n..but that's up to you, many will agree, many disagree..I personally believe I felt a slight decrease in power when i ran my drop in k&n filter on my stock intake...

Just get yourself a CAI and be done with it.
