Ha. I wish I looked him up of course afterwards and he's definitely not a rookie at this. Idk why this forum hasn't banned him.

I remember reading some posts by him awhile back and a lot of people caught on that he was a scammer, it sucks that you had to lose money to a scumbag like that!!

My intentions were to buy a tuner for 110 bucks but the tuner never arrived so I searched his post then I saw all of the talk about scamming.

This is why the new policy is in place in the classified section.

Yeah pay pal protects both the buyer and seller and can cancel any transactions within 2 weeks I believe. Happened to me with a guy on Craigslist for something as lame as $20 cupholders haha and they reported him, banned his account and got me the money back in like a day of me telling them

I'm dealing with PayPal right now over some rocker stripes supposedly sold by bygonedecals.com. It's been 30+ days now and the seller has contacted me twice but with no tracking number or conformation that anything was shipped.

I hope the best for you. I have suggested to the site administrator that we create a new forum section titled "Purchase Experience". This would allow members to post both good and bad experiences with purchases from members on this site. Hopefully it will go through.

As to the paypal deal, I posted this as a sticky a few weeks ago, as I saw a few sellers asking for this type of payment. While I cannot judge a seller by this request, I know it's never a good idea for a buyer to pay this way. PayPal is very strick on refunding money on a goods purchase when you pay as a "gift" type payment. Hard for paypal to refund your money when it was a "gift". It's much better for the seller to charge a few dollars more to cover their charges from paypal if the seller is concerned about this.

Good luck, I hope this gets resolved in your favor. We are doing everything we can to help protect the members on this site. Of course, this site cannot be responsible for any false postings or sales that do not complete.

You used friends and family/gift, sorry your money is gone and you won't get it back. This is why you NEVER pay this way unless you personally know the seller. Also ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS pay with a credit card. Not a debit/prepiad/check card, a CREDIT CARD. This allows you to charge back the transaction and get your money back immediately. I've had to do this twice, once when I bought a ported intake that never came and also when I bought "new" phone off ebay that came wrapped in a paper towel with a used/crudded up screen protector on it. Money was back in my account instantly and let paypal deal with scumbag scammers.

I'd consider this a life lesson as much as it sucks. And as crappy as it is, you can NEVER trust anyone when it comes to online purchases. EVER...

I had a guy try to burn me as well when I was selling stuff. I almost sent the part without his payment because he said it was in the mail. Luckily I didn't because the payment never showed up and the guy never contacted me back.

Doesnt matter you sent the money as a gift. There is nothing to fight or claim in your case.

Me too. I agree 100% with ^. Should be some very harsh punishment for scamming.

Is he still on here? They will take care of it. They already put new selling requirements in place to help protect us.

That sucks to take advantage of someone's hard earned money like that knowing people care about their cars on here. The gods frown upon such malarkey ...

He hasn't posted anything for a few days since he got called out on one of the threads, he didn't even have enough posts to start selling stuff he should've be taken care of instantly.
