custom guage pod

ok, so with the pending procharger install on my 02 gt ive been thinking of ways to hide my guages so that they can not be seen by just everyone driving by....kinda sleeperish. if i cant figure anything out ill just mount them with the cluster bezel pod but would like something a little more custom. Anyone know how hard it would be to make a pod that attatches to the pass side of the center console? i know it would eat up into the passangers leg room but i rarely have a passenger so they can deal with it. Was thinking of adding it to the pass side kinda angled towards the driver so i can see it with a quick glance but its not up for everyone to see since i have a Convertible. Thoughts??

Wheel stander has a bada** setup and has his mounted under the stereo. You could mount there or get a pod for the steering wheel

So every a-hole can't see them at a light... in the slot under the radio/hvac, you can cut out the area around the cupholders and have a billet plate fabbed up to go over that area with 2 and 1/6 gauge holes and there is also the tried and true cluster bezel with the 2 gauge pods. Those would be sort of visible but not overt.

+1^ latemodelrestoration sells a mounting bevel for it. I would have mounted mine where the radio currently is if I didn't have issues with the stereo being in that position.

Mine has the double din the pic is just one of a console I found.......would it be possible to fit them in the shifter bezel with some modification? Anyone think that's wide enough?

You could try doing that but it might just be easier to the double din out of a 99-00 and go from there if you don't mind choosing a different radio.

Then there is this guy

Lol not exactly what the OP is looking for but I like it and its MUCH nicer than the POS autometer pod that ppl install there. That Autometer pod isn't even contoured to the dash...

Or just delete the Mach 1000 system and get a good set of Pionner speakers, bypass the stock amp and it'll sound way better.

So you are telling me that 4 pioneer speakers sound better than the stock amped speakers with subs?

Thanks tc.

Pickup a fascia at junk yard for 99 or 00
Mustang.

You can mount your switches back in same location, just drill some holes.

A set of 4 GOOD Pioneer speakers will sound light years better than the Mach 1000 blah speakers and the Mach subs are pretty terrible as far as subs go. It will sound better yes, just not as much bass. Throw a good amp and a single 8 or 10 inch sub in the back if you want the bass back and sounding better.

IMO, if you are really that dead set on the low vis gauges. Get the speedometer bezel that has 2 and then do the 3 below the HVAC. You need: Water, Oil, Fuel pressure, Wideband and a boost/vac if you supercharge it.

Or just ditch the stock cluster entirely and get a aftermarket gauge cluster which is what I eventually want to do. The stock gauges are not very accurate.

That's something like what I was talking about with the custom part....building a little thing off the pass side of the center console to hold gauges. Or putting them in the front of the shifter bezel where the lighter is.
