Shopping begins

Just bought my steeda 19 cams and steeda subframe connectors then sending my intake off to get ported next getting some long tubes off road h and haven't decided on mufflers yet but anyone got any suggestions on other mods not trying to go crazy just trying to have a quick street car to autocross on occasion and not chop up the cobra in the process

My 95 Cobra was:

-Stock longblock
-3.73s
-Pullies (minus the alt pulley)
-Full exhaust
-CAI
-A9L computer installed via a PIH (you can tune the J4J1 yourself with a QH or have a chip burnt though)
-Aluminum DS
-Tri Ax shifter
-MM full length subframes

Car ran GREAT. I honestly would not mess with putting a cam in it at all. The Cobra has a set of heads/intake that can actually breathe. IMO, bolt ons, fuel system, Vortech, then work on the suspension.

Have it dyno tuned or learn to use a Moates Quarterhorse tuner.

Does the quarter horse work just like a tuner?

Why'd you buy rockers? 5.0 Cobras come stock with Crane 1.7s already installed in the heads lol. Lifters should not be an issue at all either, unless you know you have a collapsed one I'd just throw the originals in some clean oil overnight and let them fill up and call it good.

Eh cars almost to 100k so just some preventive stuff while I'm in there. I've also decided to hit up maximum motorsports to get some corner carver goodies.

I was just about to say suspension goodies and some competitive tires. Adding some negative camber and a little positive caster will improve turn in greatly.

Oh yes that's coming right after I get the exhaust setup figured out and all ordered and I have nitto 555's on there 245 front 315 back. My suspension is kinda eh at the moment being stock with no quad shock and a rear sway bar I'm pretty sure is from an 86 svo just threw on there while I was home bc the guy before me somehow broke the stock one

Here are a couple videos of me autocrossing. The top video was from two weeks ago, and the other video was from last season when I was still on my stock Bullitt wheels and Falken FK452's.

You're gonna understeer like crazy with the tire setup you've got

I've been through the autocross a couple times in my buddies bullitt my dads Mach 1 and several other stangs and it was great fun that's why my cars getting setup more to take turns and as for under steer I haven't had a problem I only got to drive it for 3 weeks before I had to come back over here but it held its own around a corner and with the meats on the back I had a great time racing light to light even beat a gt500 ( simply because he had zero traction) what ill probably end up doing is setting up the stock rims with some good track tires and use them and keep the cobra r's for cruising and fun on the street

On another note I did did get my bbk ceramic long tubes ordered an if your looking to buy some the cheapest I found mine were on steeda

That sounds like a good idea. Usually running big tires in the rear and smaller tires up front causes the rear to get more traction than the front and when you apply that to trying to take a turn it has a strong tendency to understeer the minute you start to apply the throttle in your turn.

Yea that's why you gotta brake before the corner get your weight transferred and use that to help ya turn

Trail braking will help with thy as well, but in turns where you gotta try double apex or just a sweeping turn will be where your car under steers most
