Ok so I have the option to send out my stock heads with a raceport all new valve train comp stage 2 cams for $2200

Or my engine builder has a used set of lightning heads with raceport stage 2 cams essentially exact same head for $1600 but their 8 yrs old what do u guys think.

Id have my own ported. Im just skeptical about used parts though, depends if that $400 matters to you that much or not.

Hesclaiming their great condition and will give me the same warranty on the used heads. They heads are off of frank maisanos race lightning.

For how much I'd save I could have them install and degree in the heads cam with the extra money cuz they are building the 5.0 stroker shortblock

Not a huge savings there. Compared to a set that you know are fresh. Still not a bad deal though. I'd try to negotiate a little. Maybe the heads and install for the 1600.

Depends who did the work, if he's going to freshen those heads up to be new like yours would be if you sent them out and how many threads are the used heads?

$600 is a good chunk of change and if they are identical minus the age then get the used ones. I've run used heads before and no issues at all.

Bought the used heads today they are gonna be refreshed and decked. Race ports heads with stage 2 comp cams $1500
